2022-2023 Practice/ Training Reminders
Equipment:
Please make sure you instill in your players how to care for the equipment provided to the club. Ball Carts- No sitting in, leaning on, or rough housing with the carts. Legs, wheels, and bracing tend to break easily on ball carts and it can be avoided with proper handling. If you have a child up at the gym, please make sure they follow the rules using ball carts. Volleyballs- Use them for what they are meant to be used for... I just ask that you tell your team to treat them properly. Boxes- Please make sure you roll them and use them primarily for training. They are not meant to be benches, catch-alls, or hang outs. This is for players and coaches. - Please DO NOT sit on the sides of the boxes when they are against the walls. They are not built to hold weight on their sides. - Please DO NOT push them on the floor. Use the wheels to replace their positions. Nets- Please do not hang on the nets! When players or coaches pull down and hang on them, it tugs on the cords and eventually begins to break. Antennas- Use them for what they are meant to be used for. The new antennas are in net pouches so there shouldn't be any issues with breaking from tightening them too much. Targets- Please don't mishandle the target catchers. The netting is to stay intact (DO NOT CUT IT) and please use the tightening latches properly. If something does come loose, please let me know or Christian so we can fix it. Gym- Please help pick up around the gym. That means all trash, bottles, ponytail holders, bobby pins, jackets, Band Aids, etc... are our responsibilities. Think of it this way... if you leave something somewhere, it will most likely be there when you come back, so please-please-please tell your team to take their things with them. Sweeping. Have a player sweep your court after practice. All teams need to have an End of Practice routine that they all must do before being able to huddle and dismiss. 1) All balls are shagged up. That means that 2 carts are either left for the next practice, or rolled to the cart area. Please look under bleachers and in corners. 2) All surrounding water bottles, trash is picked up. Basically nothing is left on your court for the next practice or ending practice. 3) Sweep both sides of the court. It shouldn't take 5 minutes to do this, but it does help! 4) Huddle and leave. So simple, and just takes a little discipline. |
